this photo inspired me! isn't she adorable? the birth announcement and note card were designed as a set, but the note card would make a fabulous all occasion card.

an updated classic...

first, a slight change of plans: we've discontinued our line of flat card notes, but...

{drumroll for good news here}

we offer even more options for our folded notes, and we're updating some of your favorite flat notes to a folded design.

so here's the goods: in most cases, our folded note cards will feature our fabulous art on the front and back. in addition, you not only have the option to customize the message on the front of the card, but now you can include an inside message as well!

so get creative people! turn our note cards into cool adult invitations, with a catch phrase on the front of the note, with details about your event on the inside. other ideas for customization would be a housewarming, thank you note, moving announcement, bridal shower... the possibilities are endless! or maybe you have a question and want to work directly with the designer? just drop us a line at info@moonandbackstudios.com. we're here to help.

and now here's an updated classic that we've converted into a folded note card. we're in love with this palette for this summer and like the clean and crisp statement with just a little edge.

customizing your birthday invitations

i just finished a birthday invitation for my good friend at the mom crowd. she selected a design, and we altered the colors of the invitation slightly so they'd match her photos perfectly. here's the finished product of her press printed card, printed on both sides with UV gloss coating.

more cool note cards, coming right up

i'm in the mood to design note cards. with summer on the way, i'm especially craving time to stick my toes in the sand on a little island near our home. it's kind of serenity now for me. in fact, here's a photo i took some time ago on that same island.

but i digress...

i'm revisiting some best selling flat cards that will be appearing soon in the store as folded notes. here is one that makes me think of warm tropical breezes...

stylin' on saturday

here are two new birthday designs with a boy or girl in mind. these would also work great for multiples - an individual photo on each side, with a group shot in the middle. we're here to make this work for you, so get creative!

and this is our new favorite baby boy announcement. not your run of the mill blue card, that's for sure! choose the press printed option for front and back printing. we'll carry the design to the back of the card and include more photos in the design if you like.

don't miss the detail on this card. there's a very soft linen look to the plaid, light drop shadows, and gentle distressing on the ribbon that is accented with cute little cars.

don't forget that we'll change our color scheme to match your photo if you like, or if you request your color of choice, we'll make it happen! you can read more here. happy shopping!

love from San Diego

I made a new friend. And she shared some love on her site. I've already posted about her. She's a fabulous writer. And she loves Moon and Back, which makes her extra fabulous.

Here's a little quip from her witty self:
"I went to Myra's site and was promptly wowed, the likes of which I've never been wowed since The Hills had its one-hour season premiere."

and this...

"So I just think that these designs are cool, and fresh, and colorful and would make great gifts, too (hint, hint, best friends)."

Read the whole thing here. And then leave her some love too.

I've got a spring in my step

Sure, I'm exhausted. Well, Michael and I both are. We just got back from a road trip to Asheville. Wow! What a place for inspiration! I could seriously live like that. I mean, strolling through trendy little antique shops, sipping a latte on a cool cafe on the corner with a perfect vantage of the street... uhem. It seems I'm being interrupted from my dream by the Little Man who is calling for me from his bed - again. Since I wouldn't want anyone to think I'm a negligent parent, he's been tucked, watered, peed, and done all those things kids do when they're procrastinating at bed time.

So back to Asheville. We had a fabulous trip. There was inspiration everywhere. So much, that I was able to absorb it even though it was the kid-friendly version. I never knew a littl
e town in NC could be such a hip place. Bold, geometric patterns are hot this season, and I just love designing them! Here are a couple examples of some recent designs from our new bridal collection.

front of the card has your photo
back of card has the message
This harlequin themed card is classic with a little whimsy. It features a nice space for an engagement photo on the front, and plenty of room for your message on the back.

Bamboo is the Chinese symbol for luck, and we think it's the perfect sentiment for a save the date card. This one features a slightly distressed paper on the front, with the bamboo theme carried over in a subtle way to the back.

The great thing about our designs is that we can change the colors of the card to match any wedding palette. So browse our designs, and we'll be happy to modify the color scheme to make your card a one of a kind. Don't miss the new "designer's suggestion" feature when browsing our cards. We'll give our suggestions for how to make the design look fabulous!

Our custom features are true for all of our cards. So it you don't see what you're looking for, please let us know! We'll be happy to work with you.

you simply can't miss this

i love smart, witty humor. i so wish i had me some. so when i find someone as smart and brilliant as san diego momma, i just have to share. she has the most unique way of sharing her thoughts on being a parent, being a wife, and just being. and most importantly, she makes me laugh. i was hooked after the first post i read called BeautyPalooza. you know how you just get some people? well, I just get her.

so then I read on, and found this post from a couple days ago. the sheer brilliance brought a tear to my eye, and i just had to share.

checker out. i'm sure you'll be reading more.

listen closely, our menu has changed...

normally, that message would make me huff in irritation and pound the 0 button on my phone. but today, this is good news. very, very good news!

we've recently changed our printing process for our photo cards, and are now offering fabulous press printing options! that means we're using state of the art digital printing presses, and can create even more fancy, schmantzy cards. here is more about your choices:

press printed photo cards:
using the latest technology, we can print a custom design on the front and back of each card. more about the finishes below.

gloss uv coating: this option gives you a high gloss finish to your card. the card is very substantial, with a sturdy feel.

metallic coating: this gives a lustrous, light pearl finish to the card. it's perfect for making an elegant statement. it looks beautiful on classic cards for announcements and holidays.

photo paper cards:
this option is slightly more economical. photo cards are printed on the very best kodak endura photo paper, and three finishes are available.

gloss: like the name implies, this finish is a light gloss that gives the card an attractive sheen.

matte: this finish softens the look of the card, and is great for announcements.

metallic: this puts a light metallic sheen on the card, and is attractive on holiday or more formal announcements.

we'd love to help you make the perfect selection for a card that's just right for you! just drop us a line
